Obituary: Judy L. Bramel

April 13, 1944 ~ October 18, 2020

Judy L. Bramel, 76 years, of Ellison Bay, died Sunday, October 18, 2020 from her home in Ellison Bay.

She was born April 13, 1944 in Palatine, Illinois, the daughter of the late Walter W. and Myrtle E. (Cooper) Grever. She graduated from Woodstock High School in 1962. On September 14, 1963 she married Richard O. Bramel in Woodstock, Illinois and they have enjoyed 57 years together. Judy had owned her own Aerobics business prior to moving to Door County. In her retirement, she had worked at the Shoreline Restaurant in Gills Rock.

Judy was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ellison Bay where she served as Deaconess and Sunday School Superintendent. She enjoyed bible study, playing the tambourine at church, hiking, and for 12 years spending winters in Alabama with Richard. Judy was fun to be around and would best be described as an outgoing, bold, gregarious lady who enjoyed meeting people, and sharing the Lord.

Her family includes her husband, Richard; two children, Mike (Jenny) of Roswell, Georgia, and Jodi (Dave) Heitbrink of Jacksonville, Illinois; brother, Walter Grever of Ohio; and three grandchildren, Nate and Ellie Bramel, and Megan Heitbrink.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and sister, Joan Cotner.

A celebration of her life is planned and will be announced in the future.
