Obituary: Julaine M. Tappen

Julaine M. Tappen, 64 years, of Sturgeon Bay, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay following a lengthy illness.

She was born August 7, 1951 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late John Charles and Betty Jane (Pennock) Moore. Following her graduation from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1969, she attended Algoma Kewaunee Normal School and finished her teaching certification. For over 20 years, Julaine worked in nursing for the Dorchester Nursing Home in Sturgeon Bay.

On December 9, 1978, she married Wayne C. Tappen at St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. Her grandchildren and family were the joy of her life. Julaine enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. Those who knew her appreciated her caring and compassion showed to all.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne; two children, Josh (Becky) Tappen (and their son, Noah) of Green Bay, Katrina (Tony) Estrada and their children, Shaun and Sophia) of Sturgeon Bay; five siblings, John (Amy) Moore of Kaukauna, Jane (Dave) Weber of Suamico, Joe Moore of Fort Meyers, FL, Judi (partner, Kathy Collins) Moore of Racine, Jim (Olivia) Moore of Fredonia; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening, March 17, 2016 at Huehns Funeral Home with Pastor Darrick Kolterjahn officiating. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery. Condolences and guestbook signing may be offered at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
