Obituary: June Schmidt

June Schmidt, 84, of Crandon, died April 1, 2017 at the home of her daughter Lorna in Sturgeon Bay, under the care of her family and Unity Hospice. She was born on July 6, 1932 in Crandon to Joseph Zakzeski and Hattie Rowe.

June married Bruce Schmidt on September 26, 1953 in Crandon. He preceded her in death in 1983. Together they farmed and raised their family. June enjoyed knitting, embroidering, bird watching, and flower gardening.

June is survived by eight children: Janice Angello of Largo, FL, Carl (Debbie) of Brussels, Hans of Brussels, Roderick (Lolita) of Milwaukee, Lorna (Mike) Bahr of Sturgeon Bay, Kevin (Christie) of Argonne, Robin (Kirsten of Marshfield, and Linda (Dave) Norton of Green Bay. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and her special kitty Africa. June was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Arliss, and baby sister Norma Jean.

Funeral services for June were held Thursday April 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Crandon. Rev. Richard Rogers will officiate.
