Obituary: Lauretta E. Jones

Lauretta E. Jones, 90, of Sturgeon Bay passed away at Bornemann’s Nursing Home on March 30, 2017.  She was born October 19, 1926 in Waupaca to Herman and Ethel (Erickson) Tesch.

Lauretta graduated from high school and then attended Milwaukee Business Institute.  On February 7, 1948 she married Arthur Jones in Berlin, WI.  He preceded her in death on April 19, 1979.

Lauretta was a bookkeeper for J & W Motors in Sturgeon Bay for many years.  Later in her life she worked for a local travel agency.  She sang in her church choir and was a past member of the Sturgeon Bay Women’s Club.  Lauretta was also  an avid bowler and Packer fan.  Lauretta will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her two children, Edward (Diane) Jones, Sturgeon Bay; Judy (Terry) O’Grady, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Tim (Gina) Jones, John (Lindsay) Jones, Jennifer Jones, Katie O’Grady, Ryan O’Grady, and Matthew O’Grady; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Levi, Liam, and Miles Jones; brother-in-law, Ray Davis; sister-in-law, Jean Walker.  She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Susan; a brother, Lewis Tesch; a sister, Elaine Davis and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Jones.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at the United Methodist Church, the Rev. David Leistra officiating.   Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Berlin.  Forbes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
