October 15, 1941 ~ January 6, 2021

Leo DeLair, 79, of Door County, WI died January 6th after a long battle with lung cancer.

Leo was born on October 15th, 1941 to Royal and Caroline (Cardy) DeLair in Berwyn, IL. After graduating from Lyons Township High School in 1959, he went on to join ‘DeLair Excavating’. He was a heavy machine operator for the duration of his career. Leo really enjoyed getting on those machines and moving some earth. He also assisted each one of his children with the construction of their homes.

After retiring in 2000, Leo moved to Sturgeon Bay, WI which was his lifelong dream. He and Judy built a house there and quickly made it a home enjoying every day spent together.

Leo enjoyed golfing and fishing throughout his retirement, and according to him, there wasn’t enough time in the day for those activities. He also enjoyed tinkering around outside/in the garage and coming up with unique contraptions.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Peter, his brother Richard his sister Barb, and his son in-law Dominick Campione. He is survived by his wife, Judy DeLair; his four children Leo (Kathleen) DeLair, Lorrie DeLair, Scott (Patti) DeLair and Sherrie (the late; Dominick) Campione; his ten grandchildren: Veronica, Michael, Paul, Katie, Samantha, Ashley, Nathen, Anthony, Charleen and Brittney, and his nine great-grandchildren.
