Obituary: Lillian Ruth Judd

November 13, 1948 ~ May 24, 2022

Lillian Ruth Judd, “Lilly” to all who knew and loved her, 73, formerly of Door County, died Tuesday afternoon, May 24, 2022 at Care Partners Assisted Living of Kaukauna in the Village of Harrison.

She was born November 13, 1948 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Albert Henry Judd and Magdalene “Maggie” Madonna Judd. Lilly grew up on the family homestead in Fish Creek and attended the Seventh-Day Adventist Church also in Fish Creek. She graduated from Gibraltar High School in Fish Creek with the class of 1969.

Lilly was initially employed with Emerson Motors in Sturgeon Bay and had the responsibility of loading and unloading the ovens and varnishing the stators. She remained at Emerson until its closing. Lilly worked in the kitchen at Tony’s Fiesta, then (as a dishwasher at) White Gull Inn, and eventually The Cookery, all in Fish Creek. She lived in Fish Creek nearly all of her life and then Baileys Harbor for a short time, before her health began to decline. Lilly moved into Emerald Shores Assisted Living in Kewaunee, Kewaunee County, in 2020 and lived there until 2021 when she moved into Care Partners Assisted Living of Kaukauna in the Village of Harrison, Calumet County.

She loved her cats, Max and Minnie. Lilly always enjoyed spending time with children. She was nice to everyone.

Lilly will be missed by her four siblings, Mary (Francis “Bud”) LaFrombois of the Town of New Holstein, Alvina LeCloux of the Town of Nasewaupee, Carol (friend, George Karls) Randl of New Holstein, Henry (Connie) Judd of Valmy; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Judd; brother-in-law, Roger LeCloux; and other relatives.

Lilly will be laid to rest near family in Blossomberg Cemetery in Peninsula State Park, Fish Creek, with a private graveside committal.
