Obituary: Linda M. Magle

January 17, 1959 ~ August 10, 2020

Linda M. Magle, 61, of Sturgeon Bay died at her home on Monday, August 10, 2020.

She was born January 17, 1959 in Kewaunee the daughter of the late Richard and Marion (Marchant) Alsteen. Linda graduated from Luxemburg Casco High School and the NWTC nursing aide program. She was a home health aide for Porter Kiehnau Home Health Care. For most of her working life Linda provided in home day care to children of our community for many years.

On October 8, 1977, she married Allan R. Magle at St. Martin Catholic Church in Tonet. They had met unexpectedly at Coun’s C Club in Brussels where their families had been to square dance. Linda needing a partner, Allan obliged, and the two have been together ever since.

She was known for always having her door open to children, and friends. Linda would say, “you have not lived until you see the world through the eyes of a child”. She had a big heart and made you feel love and accepted, never judged, anytime you would be around her. 

She loved children and caring for them, and loved time spent at Cave Point, watching sunrises and sunsets around the area, and gardening. She founded an OA group helping many with issues related to overeating.

Linda was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Green Bay Koinonia, Anchor of Hope TEC and Homemakers.

The suddenness of her passing leaves her family saddened and includes her husband, Allan; daughter, Melissa; sister, Patricia Slana; brother, Rick Alsteen; and many dear nieces, nephews, and their families.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2020 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Fr. Quinn Mann officiating. Friends may call at the church Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Masks will be required and COVID protocols followed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the family.
