Obituary: Lisa K. Smith

November 12, 1956 ~ September 21, 2021

Lisa K. Smith, 64 years, of Sturgeon Bay died Tuesday, September 21, 2021 while at Sturgeon Bay Health Services due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born November 12, 1956 in Lebanon, Indiana the daughter of the late Harold and George Anne (Thrush) Brooks. Lisa graduated from Pike High School in Indianapolis in 1975 prior to receiving her Associate Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at West Baden in French Lick, Indiana. She moved to Sturgeon Bay in 1994. Lisa loved to bake and cook, a pastime she enjoyed with her mother that grew into a wedding cake business. Always enjoying serving others, she worked with a catering business, was a line cook and child care cook, hospital cook, cooked at the Inn at Cedar Crossing, White Lace Inn, and managed a Prime Quarter Restaurant.

Lisa’s extended family was her Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church family and the families who attended there. She was an active mentor to the church youth, and enjoyed the women’s fellowship, missions, and travels. Lisa loved to sing and was a member for many years with the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church Choir. If it included the outdoors, hiking and adventure Lisa was in for the trip.

Survivors include her children, Sarah Smith of Green Bay, Andy Smith (fiancé’, Christine Anthony) of Sturgeon Bay, Jacob Smith (wife, Breanna) of Brussels; grandchildren, Mason Smith, Izabella Kimber, Alina Miotke, Lorelai Smith, Elizabeth, Hailey, Tyler Anthony; great-grandson, Adrian Pilgrim; brothers, John “Randy” (Melanie) Brooks, Clark (Pam) Brooks both of Indianapolis, Indiana; and sister, Sylvia Brooks of Brownsburg, Indiana.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Harold and George Ann Brooks; and sister, Lenore Brooks.

A celebration of her life will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church with Rev. Dr. Matthew R. Knapp officiating. Burial will be near her parents at Lincoln Memorial Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.

Friends and family will gather for visiting Saturday, October 9 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Those in attendance are asked to wear a face covering.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sturgeon Bay Health Services, Sunflower Cottages and Julie Pflieger for all the wonderful care and support given to Lisa over the years.
