Obituary: Lloyd George “LG” Logerquist

May 12, 1941 ~ July 27, 2021

Lloyd George “LG” Logerquist, 80, of Fish Creek, Wisconsin died early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2021 at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin following complications from congestive heart failure. His family was by his side. 

Lloyd was born May 12, 1941 in Sister Bay, Wisconsin and raised there by his parents, Irene (Krause) Logerquist and Lloyd Elmer Logerquist. When he was 8 the family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and he graduated from Custer High School. He spent his summers on the farm with his grandmother, Marie Krause, and worked many summer jobs in Door County including busing tables at the C&C Club and cutting grass at the Peninsula Lodge in Fish Creek. 

He enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany from 1962-’64.  He married the love of his life, Susan Marie Gross, on May 11, 1968. They raised their family in Colgate, Wisconsin where they spent 25 happy years.  Lloyd worked at A. O. Smith in Milwaukee for 30 years as a machinist. He also had a small machining business that he ran out of his Colgate home called L&L Tool. They built a summer vacation home on Krause family land in Fish Creek in 1988 where the family gathered to spend many happy summer vacations together. After retiring at age 59, he and Sue moved up to Fish Creek permanently and built their retirement home across from the Krause family farm on Gibraltar Road. He enjoyed over 20 years of retirement, always keeping himself busy with many projects including building three more houses. 

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Susan, four children, Vicky (Joe) St. George of Hartland, WI, Dawn (Matthew) Donley of the Town of Egg Harbor, WI, Brian Logerquist of Fish Creek, WI, and Nick (Sarah) Adams of Muskego, WI; seven grandchildren, Curtis Massad, Collin Massad, Chloe Massad, Brandon St. George, Kaitlyn St. George, Mathias Keogh, and Elizabeth Logerquist; brother, Allen Logerquist of New York City, NY; and two sisters-in-law, Pat Mantey of Mukwonago and Nancy Parker of Atlanta, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Irene Logerquist; and a son, Michael Lloyd Logerquist.

Family and friends are welcome to gather in celebration of Lloyd’s life from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Alexander’s, 3667 State Highway 42, Fish Creek, WI 54212.
