Obituary: Lori Joy Gray

April 4, 1957 ~ August 18, 2020

Lori Joy Gray, 63, of Baileys Harbor, died on August 18, 2020 in the comfort of her home and in the loving hands of her family.

She was born April 4, 1957 in Wausau, daughter of the late Theodore and Viola (Nehring) Frick. Lori attended Wausau West High School and graduated with the class of 1975 before attending Northcentral Technical College for two years. Lori worked as a title examiner for various companies over the years. Most recently, she was employed as Senior Title Examiner for Knight Barry Title Services. On November 1, 2003, she and John Paul Gray were united in marriage at St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church in Baileys Harbor and Lori made the transition from city girl to farmer’s wife. Lori was an active member in the Immanuel Lutheran Church choir in Baileys Harbor. She enjoyed playing the piano, traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, knitting, motorcycling, and a good bourbon or two. She was a member of the Peninsula Gun Club.

Lori will be missed by her loving husband, John; son, Greg Baumann; daughter, Amanda Baumann; grandson, Giovanny Theodore Acevedo; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and her faithful dachshund, Lilly. Lori was especially proud of all of her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Viola Frick.

Lori’s life will be honored with a funeral service held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Cemetery. For those in attendance for the services, masks and social distancing are mandatory.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday morning at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lori’s name to Door CANcer, Inc. or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
