Obituary: Lucile Mae Zelhofer

Lucile Mae Zelhofer, 83, of Sturgeon Bay, died on Sept. 6, 2016 at Scandia Village Nursing Home.  She was born July 28, 1933, in Michigan to Harry and Ruth (Halverson) Warren.  She married Willard John Zelhofer at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Institute.  He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1987.

During her life, Lucile had worked as waitress for several restaurants including the Florian, the Mill, and Leo’s On the Shore.  She had also worked for Goettleman’s Store and Maas Floral.

Lucile enjoyed gardening, knitting, going out to eat, and socializing with friends and family.  She will always be remembered as a dedicated wife and mother who always put others before herself.

Survivors include 3 children,  Scott (Karen) Zelhofer, Sturgeon Bay;  Larry (Patty) Zelhofer, Sturgeon Bay; and Karen (David) Schartner, Egg Harbor;  8 grandchildren:  Alex and Courtney Zelhofer, Abby (James) Jacobson, Colin (Sara) Zelhofer, Derek Zelhofer, Carissa (Josh) Sawyer, Jeremy (Beth) Schartner, and Cambria (Jason) Peggar; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, John; and a grandson, Brian.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
