November 26, 1943 ~ February 3, 2021

Margo Ann Jackson, 77, of Sturgeon Bay, died Wednesday morning, February 3, 2021 at Sturgeon Bay Health Services.

She was born November 26, 1943 in Seymour, daughter of the late Alfred and Lulu (Snell) Melchert. Margo graduated from Seymour High School with the Class of 1962 before attending the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from UWO and continued graduate school at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, where she obtained her master’s degree in Educational Science. She had a passion for teaching and loved guiding students through their educational journey. Margo taught Kindergarten for 20 years and Second Grade for 15 years, spending her 35-year teaching career with the Ashwaubenon School District and retired in 2001. During her retirement, she worked as a caregiver for Specialized Services in Sturgeon Bay and was a substitute at Sevastopol School District until her stroke in 2013. Margo was a true socialite and loved to garden, do creative crafts, knit, chitchat, and spend time with friends and family.

Margo was an avid Packer fan and met the love of her life, Willard “Bill” Thomas Jackson, at the Ice Bowl. The two were united in marriage on June 5, 1982 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. Together, they lived in Oneida and enjoyed traveling, visiting supper clubs, hosting neighborhood parties, and their beloved lab, Nellie. In 1987, they adopted their first and only daughter, Ashley Ann Jackson. In 1988, they sold their boat and bought a summer home on the shoreline of Glidden Drive, where they would eventually retire to permanently. The couple shared 25 adventurous years together before Bill preceded her in death on January 23, 2008.

Margo will be missed by her daughter, Ashley (Christopher) Blaschuk of Sturgeon Bay; dear family and friends, Jeff and Vicki Strenski, Gin Muenster, Gail Mullendore, Andrea and Jerry Madden, Andrea Warwick and her children, Olivia and Damien, Dan and Carol Browne and their children, Mike and Steve, Jackie Kaston, Julie Johnson, Susan Torborg, Sharon and Gary Steiner, Grant and Tracey Willems, Anthony Quinn and his children, Andrew, Alex, and Annie, and the staff at Sturgeon Bay Health Services; and so many others that made her life incredibly beautiful.
