Obituary: Mary L. Pfister

January 27, 1956 ~ April 30, 2023

Mary Pfister, 67, of Sevastopol, died peacefully on April 30, 2023, at Aurora Bay Care with her family at her side, due to complications from diabetes.  She was born Jan. 27, 1956, to Melvin and Nancy Pfister.  Mary graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1974 and shortly there after started a long career at Emerson Motors until they closed.  She later went to work for the Alpine Resort until she retired.

Mary loved to be at home where she enjoyed visiting with family and friends, having cookouts and pit fires.  She also loved to go fishing and mowing her lawn.  She had a great love for animals, especially her pup Rascal.  Mary was known by many as the “cat lady” because she always had room for one more stray, who would visit and never leave.  Mary treasured her home life and developed a special bond of love and devotion to her mother that was never broken.

Mary’s nieces and nephews meant the world to her along with her great-nephew Emerson Lee.  Special thanks to Jeremy, Phillip, Danielle, Brandt, and Tessa who always had time for her, which she cherished.

Survivors include her mother, 2 brothers, Roger (Cheryl) Pfister and their family, Mel Jr. (Peggy) Pfister and their family, sister Linda (Randy) Schultz and their family.  She was preceded in death by her father Melvin Sr.

The family would like to thank Divita Dialisis and Aurora Bay Care, especially the 3rd floor doctors and staff, for their loving and compassionate care in Mary’s last hours.  You will not be forgotten.

God speed Mary – We will keep the lawn cut for you!

In honor of Mary’s wishes a private service will be conducted.  Memorials may be directed to the Door County Humane Society.
