Obituary: Mary Lynn Schwarz

June 10, 1941 – April 15, 2021

Mary Schwarz, 79, of Sturgeon Bay, died peacefully at her home. She was born in Sheboygan to Charles and Margaret (Schnorr) Street. On Oct. 1, 1960, she married Wayne Schwarz. He died June 21, 2003.

Mary had a heart of gold and a fabulous sense of humor, and she loved life and lived it with many passions. Mary loved her husband, Wayne, of 42 years. They loved Door County and spending time with their two sons, Daniel and David.

Mary enjoyed cooking and baking for the family and continued that love for interesting recipes throughout her life. She enjoyed many fascinating travel adventures with her favorite sister, Carole. Mary also had a soft spot for furry friends and spent countless hours scratching the puppies and making them feel special.

Mary will be remembered by most as a truly talented artist who enjoyed spending time with her friends from various painting and quilting groups while making beautiful friendships and artwork. She also had the most unusual large collection of red and white mushrooms that she believed to be her good luck charms. But most of all, Mary loved her grandchildren, Hunter and Mia. She was and will forever be their protecting angel, who loved them with all her heart.

She is survived by two sons, David (Yu) Schwarz, Sturgeon Bay, and Dan (Gretel) Schwarz, Gills Rock; two grandchildren, Hunter and Mia; sister, Carole Engels, Gills Rock; brother, Richard Street, Sheboygan; and nieces and nephews.

A public visitation will be held Thursday, April 22, 5-6 pm, at Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. A memorial service will follow at 6 pm at Forbes. A family-and-friends graveside service will be held Friday, April 23, 3 pm, at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.
