Obituary: Mitchell J. Olson

Mitchell James Olson, 49, of Sister Bay, died peacefully Nov. 2, 2016 with his family by his side. Mitchell was born Nov. 12, 1966, in Sister Bay at his parents’ home. As a child he grew up in his father and grandfather’s auto shops. After graduation he worked with his dad at Glenn’s Auto Body. He decided to experience something new and was hired at Hocker’s Excavating where he worked for many years as an equipment operator. He was a natural with the equipment and amazed people with the jobs he did and his many talents. Most recently he was employed by Yacht Works in Sister Bay. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, Ford Trucks and being with his family and many friends. He always had a good story or joke to share.

Mitchell is survived by his wife Amie, two children he loved very much, daughter Olivia and son Mitchell Jr., mother June Olson, sister Robin and Jim Seaquist, brother Kirby and Lynn Olson and brother-in-law James and Tammy Voeks. He had many nieces and nephews who each held a special place in his heart. His father Glenn proceeded him in death just one week earlier.

Visitation at Sister Bay Moravian Church with the family will start at 10 am on Wednesday, November 9th, followed by a celebration of Mitchell’s life at 11 followed by lunch.
