Obituary: Muriel DeNamur

Muriel DeNamur, 92, was born in Brussels on Aug. 9, 1925, to Ben and Agnes (Bournoville) Delfosse. Muriel graduated from Brussels High School in 1942 and attended Badger Business College in Green Bay. She was employed for four years as a secretary at Smith Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay prior to marrying Lloyd DeNamur on Nov. 7, 1946. After they married, they owned and operated a family dairy farm in Brussels for 35 years. She was an Associate for more than 25 years with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross at Bay Settlement. She was also a member of the Door County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for more than 20 years.

Muriel was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.  She is survived by her children, Marcia (Jeffrey) Degner and Thomas (Lynn) DeNamur, and two grandchildren, Christopher (Loryll) and Nicole DeNamur. Services were held March 27. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Francis Xavier – St. Mary Parish or Sisters of the Holy Cross.
