Obituary: Nadine C. Urban

January 14, 1939 ~ March 4, 2023

Nadine C. Urban, 84, of Brussels, died Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Door County Medical Center.

She was born January 14, 1939 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Leo and Dorothy (Gleason) McKee. Nadine graduated in 1957, from St. Joseph Academy in Green Bay before attending St. Norbert College in Green Bay and then onto The College of Medical Technology in Minneapolis.

On August 10, 1974, she married Eldred N. Urban at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2015.

Nadine was an intern at Mercy Hospital Lab in Clinton, Iowa and later at Twin City Clinic in Neenah (1960). She continued at Beaumont Clinic in Green Bay, and Health Assessments for Lifestyle Health Systems in Green Bay where she retired in 2012.

On July 14, 2018, she married Kenneth Knuth. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2020.

She was a member of Door County Maritime Museum, the Door County Historical Society, and coordinated community Red Cross Blood Drives. Nadine enjoyed playing golf, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, boating, traveling the United States and Caribbean, and sailing on European inland River Cruises.

Surviving family includes her niece, Kathleen McKee of Little Chute; nephew, Kevin (Celia) McKee of Appleton; five great-nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Jane (Jim) Moeller of Bayfield; and nephews, Jeff and Jed Moeller.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Leo and Dorothy McKee in 1975; her sister, Karen Ann in 1944; her brother, Patrick James McKee in 1980—all due to traffic fatalities; sister-in-law, Suzanne McKee of Appleton in 2022; and her husbands.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Huehns Funeral Home with Rev. David Leistra officiating. Burial will be at Allouez Cemetery in Green Bay following the service.

Friends may call at Huehns Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m.
