Obituary: Nancy Anne McHugh

Nancy Anne McHugh, 84, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Wednesday morning, May 25, 2016 at Golden Living Center-Dorchester.

She was born June 13, 1931 in Perry, IA, the daughter of Ernest and Angeline (Duchaine) Banyard. Nancy graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School in Cicero, IL in 1948. On May 28, 1949, she married Martin S. McHugh in Elgin, IL. They were blessed with nearly 24 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1973.

Nancy was an Executive Secretary at DePaul University in Illinois for many years before her employment with Ryerson-Inland Steel until her retirement. She moved to Sturgeon Bay in 1994 after visiting Ephraim in Door County.

Nancy was an active member of St. Joseph Parish in Sturgeon Bay and was past President of the Christian Mothers. She had been a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Chicago, IL.

Nancy is survived by her three children, Daniel (Karen) McHugh of Algonquin, IL, Kathleen Lantz of Williamsburg, VA, Linda McHugh (Mary Hinsey) of Gurnee, IL; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Yvonne Stephenson.

Nancy will be laid to rest in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL with private family committal services, Fr. Tom May officiating.
