Obituary: Nicholas “Nick” Ciganik

May 25, 1948 ~ December 27, 2020

Nicholas John Ciganik, 72, of Sturgeon Bay, died suddenly on Dec. 27, 2020.  He was born May 25, 1948 in Ionia, Michigan to John and Mary Jane Ciganik. On Feb. 9, 1968 he married Lynda Carol Outman in Belding, Michigan.

Nick graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in civil engineering.  He worked as a naval architect for 25 years in Alexandria, Virginia and in Sturgeon Bay.  Nick enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and was a lector at Corpus Christi Parish.  He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, two children, Ted (Gina) Ciganik of Minnesota and Meghan Ciganik (Tim Nagel) of Texas; four grandchildren, Abby and Melanie Talmadge, Claudia and Calvin Cignaik; a brother James Ciganik and a sister Marie (Robert) Swann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Barbara Ann Ciganik.

Due to the pandemic, private family services will be conducted.  Memorials may be directed to St. John Bosco School (STEM Program) 730 W.
