Obituary: Noretta Kaye

July 28, 1937 ~ February 5, 2022

Noretta Germaine Kaye, 84, of Brussels died peacefully at Pinecrest Village with her family by her side on Feb. 5, 2022.  She was born July 28, 1937, in Brussels to Edward and Viola (Renier) Englebert.  She married Daniel Kaye on November 10, 1973, in Brussels, he preceded her in death on April 24, 2020.

Many years ago, Noretta worked at the Milwaukee Shoe factory and at the old hospital in Sturgeon Bay.  She later worked for several years as a cook for Southern Door School until her retirement.   Noretta loved bird watching, reading books, putting puzzles together and playing cards.  She enjoyed camping with her husband, having a beer by the fire and spending time with her family.  Most of all, she enjoyed giving people a “hard time.”

Survivors include her four children, Jerry (Becky) Knapp, Brussels; Kim Forster (Fiancé Zane), Tipler, WI; Debbie Knapp, Sturgeon Bay; Mike (Kristy) Kaye, Brussels;  ten grandchildren, Chris (Angie) Knapp, Craig (LuAnn) Knapp, Melissa Lynch, Ashley (Brent) Reimer, Kori Stephany (Fiance Brandon), Jenni Burlo, Crystal Werkmann, Amanda Brungraber, Brianna and Alanah Kaye; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Terri) Englebert; a sister, Wendy (Rick) Vlies; a brother-in-law, Ervin Cornette.  She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Harold and Doris Kaye, husband, sister Clarice Ann Cornette, son-in-law Rick Forester and nephew Lance Vlies. 

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022, at St. Francis and St. Mary Church, Brussels.  Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30-11:00 a.m.  Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
