Obituary: Patricia Mary Heller

Jan. 9, 1938 – June 30, 2019

Patricia Mary Heller, 81, of Sturgeon Bay died at the Door County Medical Center Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born in Chicago, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Mahoney) Munden. Patricia attended St. Philip Neri Catholic Grade School and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas Academy High School in South Shore Chicago in 1956.

She worked as a hairdresser for more than 40 years and during the last 10, she owned and operated Carol Jo’s Beauty Salon in Blue Island, Illinois. She loved gardening, crocheting beautiful blankets, doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards. Patricia was a beautiful woman who was intelligent, funny, quick-witted and sharp-tongued. She was a great cook and had a big heart, which led her to rescue several greyhound dogs, loving them and her cats until her passing.

Patricia will be missed by her four children, Pat (Jim) Kich of Blue Island, Illinois, Marianne (John) Climack of Chicago, Scott (Julie Mraz) Tebo of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and James Hamilton of North Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Gerald (Amelia) Gustavson, Christopher (Samantha) Gustavson, Julia (Michael) Ernst, Rachel (Karl) Rhea, Haley Kich (partner Kate Rothgaber), Carli Tebo, and Courtney Tebo; seven great-grandchildren (and one on the way), Wyatt, Vivian (and Olivia) Gustavson, Paige Tharp and Charlotte Gustavson, and Kylie, Meika, and Jimmy Rhea; former husband and dear friend Mike Tebo; and former sister-in-law, Norma Mullenix.

She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, Jack Cryan.

In honor of Patricia’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Donations can be made in her name to the Midwest Greyhound Adoption (MGA), P.O. Box 338, Sugar Grove, IL 60554.
