Obituary: Patricia (Pat) Martin

Patricia (Pat) Martin died 92 years young on August 9, 2020.  She left Scandia Village for a dancing date with Jack, who preceded her in death in March, 2017.

She was born and raised in Chicago, but spent most of her life in Appleton and Sister Bay, Wisconsin. 

Pat graduated from the College of St. Francis in Joliet, IL.  Shortly after graduation, she married her husband, Jack.  They were married for 66 years, and together they raised a family of six children, of whom they were most proud:   Francesca (Bill), Michelle, John (Karen), Marietta (Stephen), Jeannie (Greg), and Tony (Chantal).

Pat learned to sail with Jack, and together they created many wonderful memories for their growing family, with annual trips to northern Door County.  Finally, in 1987 they moved to Sister Bay.  Their children’s families continue to visit to this day.  Pat also loved to cook and entertain, having hosted many wonderful parties.

Pat is survived by her six children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.  In addition to Jack, she is preceded in death by her parents Al and Bernice, her sister Jean, and her brother Al.

In accordance with Pat’s wishes, the Funeral Mass and Interment are for immediate family.  Due to COVID-19, a celebration of Pat’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Meadows at Good Samaritan, Scandia Village; 10554 Applewood Rd, Sister Bay, WI   54234
