Obituary: Randy Franda

Randy Franda, 60, of Nasewaupee, died suddenly on May 21, 2016, at Ministry Door County Medical Center.   He was born December 21, 1955, in Sturgeon Bay to Ervin and Jeanette (Wagner) Franda.  On May 6, 1978, he married Joan Krause in Brussels.

After high school, Randy worked for Roen Salvage and Bay Ship.  For most of his life, he was a carpenter in the construction business, owning and operating Franda Builders LLC.  Randy was currently a board member of the Gardner Rifle Club and long-time safety instructor for the Southern Door Snow Travelers Snowmobile Club.

He enjoyed bowling in the Wednesday Night Wash Out League and the Bay Couples League.  Randy also loved deer hunting, fishing and pheasant hunting with his dogs Parker and Rusty.  Every spring he looked forward to starting his own plants in his greenhouse and transferring them into his huge vegetable garden.

Survivors include his wife Joan; three sons, Craig Franda, Appleton; Chris (Elizabeth) Franda, Sturgeon Bay; Adam (fiancé, Rebecca) Franda, Sturgeon Bay; one grandson Owen; brother, Brian (Louise) Franda, Sturgeon Bay; mother, Jeanette Franda, Sturgeon Bay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, parents-in-law Elmer and Louise Krause; and brother-in-law Keith Krause.

Funeral services were held May 26, 2016, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating.  On-line condolences may be offered at
