Obituary: Rev. Christopher W. Leonard

Rev. Christopher W. Leonard, 56, of Fish Creek, died suddenly at his home on Tuesday morning September 26, 2017.

He and his wife Kris Ann loved serving the Lord together and working with families and making friends wherever they went. Chris loved spending time with his family, enjoying the communities he lived in and riding his Jet Ski. Chris was born in 1961 in Owosso, MI and grew up in both Michigan and Washington States. While in Washington, he met and married the love of his life, Kris Ann and they had 37 years of marriage. He attended bible college and eventually completed his Doctoral Degree in Divinity, which he used as Pastor at Evansville Community Church and Fish Creek Community Church in Wisconsin and at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Iowa. His vast love for movies often provided good sermon content. He is survived by his wife, his children Aaron (Rachel and two girls Zoey and Eliya), Torry (Mallory), and Tara, his mother Sharon, his brothers Randy (Stephanie), Eric (Ryann), and Jon (Lisa), and sisters Jenny Bell (Jerry) and Tina Simmons (Mike) and many nieces and nephews. He is celebrating in Heaven with his father, Wesley. Chris’ legacy lives on in the hearts of the many people he has married, pastored, or simply spent time with. The Leonard Family and Community Church of Fish Creek would like to especially thank the Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Department, The Door County Sheriff Department, and Greg Casperson for their excellent care and kindness in their time of need.

In lieu of donations and flowers, consider making a donation to Fish Creek Community Church for the Leonard Family Fund. Cards can be mailed to PO Box 70, Fish Creek, WI 54212.
