Obituary: Roland ‘Rollie’ Carl Hackbarth

Nov. 29, 1931 – Nov. 8, 2017

Rollie (Roland) Hackbarth (1931-2017) was preceded in death by his beloved Jean McClure. He was the cherished father of Sandra (Wence) Martinez, grandfather of Claudio and Angel (Ale), brother of Lois Sherwood of Albuquerque, best buddy of Glen Zachow (North Milwaukee Indians), and loving, patriarchal stepfather to a tribe of McClures in Green Bay who knew him as Papa Rollie.

Rollie was an entrepreneurial industrial engineer who established, at age 60, the thriving Hackbarth Services in Green Bay. He previously worked for Machine Service, Palmer Johnson and Cummins Diesel. Rollie was as comfortable crawling under a paper mill machine as explaining his diagnostic analysis to the CEO.

An avid outdoorsman, Rollie enjoyed spending time at his family cottage in Northern Wisconsin. He especially loved fishing, hunting, boating and swimming with his extended family.

Loved by a cast of thousands, Rollie will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He taught us all how to love without reservation.
Rollie is further survived by his by his stepchildren, Kirk (Kay) McClure, Lori McClure (Dan Van Rossum) and Gwen (Ron) Liechti; grandchildren; Cassie (Chad) Beltrand, Nick (Erica) McClure, Jenna (Kyle Christian) Jaworski, Ethan Sandor, Evan Sandor, Andrea (Justin) Rhode, Megan Liechti (Patrick Adair); great grandchildren; Emma, Grayce and Paige Beltrand, Evelyn McClure, Conrad and Nash Rhode, and Brielle Adair.
In addition to his parents and Jean McClure, Rollie is preceded in death by granddaughters, Lindsay McClure and Megan (Liechti) Adair;
