Obituary: Ronald James Moreaux

July 12, 1938 – Aug. 7, 2019

Ronald James Moreaux, 81, of Luxemburg died peacefully at Helping Hearts Assisted Living in Luxemburg.

He was born in Oneida, the son of Clinton George and Harriet Genevieve (Van De Hey) Moreaux. After graduating from Brussels High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1959.

Ron lived in Florida for more than 20 years while taking care of his parents and then moved to Algoma, where he lived for 14 years until his dementia put him into the assisted-living facility. Ron thoroughly enjoyed his stay at Helping Hearts and becoming “one big family” with the staff and residents.  He enjoyed fishing and collecting antiques. Ron was a good son, brother, and friend.

Ron is survived by his brother, Ed (Deanna) Moreaux of Georgia; sisters, Faye (Gene) Shaw of Algoma and Beatrice (David) Jeanquart of Luxemburg; and sister-in-law, Carol Moreaux of Sturgeon Bay.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clinton Moreaux Jr. and Victor Moreaux.

In honor of Ron’s wishes, no formal services are being held.

Huehns Funeral Home and Door County Crematory in Sturgeon Bay are assisting the Moreaux family. Expressions of sympathy, memories and photos of Ron can be shared through his tribute page at huehnsfuneralhome.com.
