Obituary: Sharon Ann Butler

Sharon Ann Butler, 70, of Sturgeon Bay, died Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 2016, at Ministry Door County Medical Center with family at her side.

She was born December 8, 1945 in Milwaukee, the daughter of George C. Butler and Annabelle Nora (Waldon) Butler. Sharon graduated from John Marshall High School in Milwaukee. She moved to Sturgeon Bay in 1973 with her mother. Sharon worked a variety of jobs in Door County including welding at Bay Shipbuilding Co. in Sturgeon Bay, manufacturing, security, and as a cook at many restaurants.

She enjoyed cross-country skiing and golfing. Sharon was very proud her hole-in-one at Alaska Golf Course in Kewaunee County. She will be remembered for her sarcastic wit, very kind heart, liberal politics, and her love of dogs and the natural world.

Sharon is survived by her beloved brother, George Butler of Readstown; niece, Keisha Williams; many relatives; and dear friends, Kathleen O’Connell, Jean Oros, Jan Cosmos, Faye Camps, and Eileen Andera.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her best friend and sister-in-law, Willie Ann Butler.

At Sharon’s request, there will be no memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory for the Door County Humane Society (3475 County Road PD, P.O. Box 93, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235).
