Obituary: Thomas C. Petersen

February 12, 1943 ~ September 11, 2022

Thomas C. Petersen, aged 79 years of Sister Bay, died early Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Pine Crest Village in Sturgeon Bay where he and his wife Annie had recently made their home.
     

He was born in Chicago on February 12, 1943 to thelate Norman and Dorothea (Schults) Petersen. Following high school graduation in Chicago, Tom pursued his vocation as an electrician. In August of 1968 he married Jannetje Anna Herrebout in Minnesota.
     

Tom was an entrepreneur at heart and owned several businesses throughout his working career. Those businesses included owning and operating his own trucking business, a tavern owner with Annie, home builder, charter Captain, and even owned Annie’s Island Mopeds on Washington Island.
     

Tom was a natural athlete in his youth and enjoyed golfing, baseball, and other various sports. He was an intelligent, social, self-assured man, who was confident and undeterred by the risk of failure.
     

Surviving family include his dear wife, Annie of Sturgeon Bay; two sons and their families, Myerin (Brenda) Petersen of Winter Haven, FL, Mickel “Mike” (Lisa) Petersen of Pleasant Prairie, WI; daughter, Christie Ann (Joe) Biggerstaff of Kidder, MO; six grandchildren, Tommy, Rachel, Megann, Corbin, Lauren, Maggie; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Susan (Bob) Laubenheimer of Slinger, WI.
     

Public graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday at Little Sister Cemetery in Sister Bay, WI.
