OBITUARY: Vincent A. Davel

Vincent A. Davel, 84, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018.

He was born on June 12, 1934 in Loyal, the son of the late Alexander and Gertrude (Bichler) Davel.  After graduating from a seminary school in La Crosse, Vince attended Marquette University.  At Marquette, he received his bachelor’s degree in Journalism.  He was an entrepreneur for many years, indulging in various lines of work.

Vince married Mary Beth Waters on the beautiful island of Barbados on Feb. 22, 1990.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Beth; six children, Christopher Davel, Marya (John) McGrath, Noralyn (Greg) Pickens, Joel (Claudine Naganuma) Davel, Andrea (Donald) Olds, and Renee (Bernie) Linder, two step-children, Sarah Christie and Christopher Waters; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and former wife and mother of his children, Bernadette Davel.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Gertrude Davel.

A memorial service may be held at a later date.

“Everyone who knew Vince will agree.  Vince was Vince.”
