Obituary: Virginia Eva Stellwagen

Virginia Eva Stellwagen, 93 years, of Green Bay, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, died  Thursday, December 29, 2016 while residing at Manor Care East in Green Bay.

She was born May 12, 1923 in Wakefield, MI, the daughter of the late Victor and Belle (Franklin) Londo. She was graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School. On July 18, 1941, she married Edward Lawrence Stellwagen at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brussels. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2014. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time visiting with her siblings and family.

Her surviving family includes her loving daughter and son-in-law, Mary (Kelly) Crouch of Green Bay; and her dear grandson, Maj. Lucas Crouch, United States Air Force, of Monterey, CA.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Belle Londo; husband, Edward Stellwagen (2014); son, Dennis (2014); brother, Victor II; three sisters, Marie Kummer, Clara Johnson, Corrine Severin; special niece, Julie Severin; and special nephew, Victor Londo III; two sisters-in-law, Elda Jacobs and Marilyn Teich.

And those called to serve at ManorCare-East, Green Bay, WI, we extend special thanks for their Kindness, Compassion, Dedication, Love and Respect shown to Virginia during her stay. We especially want to thank Stephanie, Director, Stacy, Social Services, Tammy, Receptionist, Jill, Bkkp.  Her caring “Angels”, Tabitha, Chrystal, Brad, Ashley, Kayla, Sue, Heather, Abby, Brittany, Erin, Sam, Diamond, “Q”, Chelsea, Jamie, Sal, Dawn, Belinda, Nicole, Samantha, Dennis, Erin, Savannah; the Kitchen & Dining Room Staff, Heartland Hospice with special mention of gratitude to nurse Barb, and VA Rep. Holly Gajeski.  “I will forever be grateful, Mary Crouch.”

Private services will take place in spring of 2017 at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (King Veterans Cemetery) along with military honors for Edward as they will be interred together there.
