Obituary: Wesley Gene (Wes) Graf

March 16, 1955~October 5, 2021

Wesley Gene (Wes) Graf (66) died at his home in Fairbanks, Alaska October 5, 2021. He was born in Sturgeon Bay, WI on March 16, 1955 to Walter and Ruby (Jonas) Graf. He graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1974.

Wes worked for the State of Alaska Dept of Transportation many years before easing into retirement. While in Alaska Wes enjoyed skijoring (winning North American skijoring championships in 1989, 1991 & 1992), growing cherry and apple trees, gardening, hunting moose and sheep, snowmachining and 4-wheeling in the back country as well as spending winters in Florida. He will be missed by family and friends.

Survivors include sisters Yvonne Hipskind, San Francisco CA, and Janice Washburn, The Villages FL, and brothers Dale (Wendy), Juddville WI, Don, Polson MT, and Randy (Katie), Sturgeon Bay WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law Lou Johnson and Douglas Washburn.

Services will be held at a later time. Inurnment will be in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, West Jacksonport, WI.
