Obituary: William F. Vondras

William Frank Vondras, 91, passed away at his home in Ellison Bay June 9, 2018 of heart failure.  He was born in Cicero, IL to Frank and Rose Vondras on April 18, 1927.  He attended Mary Queen of Heaven grade school and graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School, attended Morton Junior College.  He was Superintendent of Mail for the Post Office Dept. for 42 years.  He moved to Ellison Bay after retirement in 1989.  He married his wife Barbara in 1953.  They would have been married 65 years on June 13.

He was Past President of the Ellison Bay Mens Club, Past President of the Kiwanis of Northern Door, Past President of the American Cancer Society, Green Bay.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Cardinal Council, Cicero, IL for 73 years.  He and his wife are members of Stella Maris Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, Son Michael (Barbara R.), grandchildren; Emily and Nikolas.  He is also survived by Sisters; Sister Cyprian O.S.B. and Lorraine, Nieces and Nephews; Tom and Donna Kozenski, Jean Lewek, Larry, Peter and the late Albert Lewek, Tina Antonson and Laura Fayfar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation from 10:00 A.M. to time of Mass at Stella Maris Parish – Sister Bay Site with Father Dave Ruby officiating. Burial will be at St. Rosalia’s Cemetery, Sister Bay.
