Obituary: William Henry Norman

William Henry Norman, 97, of Ellison Bay, Wisconsin died Nov. 30, 2017 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. He was born August 5, 1920 in Evanston, Illinois to Anna and Fred Norman. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1942 and worked as a lithographer all of his life.   In 1945 he married Ursula Schmidt In 1970 he married his second wife, Jean L. Hanstrom. They lived in Morton Grove, Illinois until 1976 and moved to Appleton, Wisconsin. They then built their home in Door County in 1973 and spent summers and winters there. William retired in 1980 and moved to Door County. William and Jean spent their winters in the south and west for 15 years. William loved to fish and golf. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, and he was a board member of Scand for many years. William’s wife Jean passed away May 30, 1996.

William is survived by three sons; Bruce Alan (Janice), William Martin (Sandra), and Thomas Henry (Carol) and six grandchildren; Janice Michelle, Amy Beth , Jeffrey William, Michael David, Kate Harriet, and Sarah Jean; and one great grandchild, Michael Henry. He is also survived by step-daughter in law Joyce Hanstrom Parlin (Ken) and her three children Christor Hanstrom, Anna Hanstrom, and Seth Hanstrom. William was preceded in death by his sister Eileen Vuillemin and brother Fred Norman. The funeral service will be private with burial at Little Sister Cemetery, Sister Bay, Wisconsin. Donations in William’s memory may be made to Bargains Unlimited Scand Auxiliary Resale Shop, Sister Bay, Wisconsin.
