Obituary: Youven Billie Heck

Nov. 7, 1936 – Feb. 28, 2020

Youven Billie Heck, 83, of Sturgeon Bay died at Algoma Long Term Care, where she had resided the past four months.

She was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Horace Andrew Gaines and Annie Agnes (DeLeon) Gaines. Her family moved to Arizona during her childhood years, and she graduated from Peoria High School.

Youven was united in marriage to Hayward Denver Heck in 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared 19 years of marriage together. Hayward died Feb. 7, 1978.

Youven worked in housekeeping and laundry at nursing and care facilities in Youngtown, Arizona, but above all, she raised her family and took care of her home. She moved to Wisconsin in April 2018 and resided with her daughters, Penny and Pamela [and her family].

Youven always enjoyed reading her romance novels. She also liked exercising and dancing. Youven loved spending time with her daughter Penny and other family.

She will be missed by her six children, Penny Heck of Sturgeon Bay, Michelle Heck Hendrickson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hayward (Roxanne) Heck, Jr. of Camp Verde, Arizona, Roy (Charlotte) Heck of Phoenix, Arizona, Pamela Heck of Sturgeon Bay, Flower Heck of Camp Verde, Arizona; many grandchildren; great-children; and other relatives.

Youven was preceded in death by her parents; husband; many siblings; and other relatives.

A private family visitation will be held at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay.
