Nov. 6, 1921 – Feb. 20, 2016
Betty Lou Anita (Sell) Staver, 94, died with a beloved daughter and granddaughter by her side. A transplanted city girl from Milwaukee, she quickly (and sometimes comically) transitioned into the life of a Door County dairy farmer with her husband and constant companion of 69 years, Marvin Henry Staver. And what a life it was, balancing a mighty work ethic that allowed her to juggle farming with bookkeeping for numerous Door County businesses, raise her two daughters, actively participate in Ephraim Moravian Church, create handmade treasures for her entire family for Christmas each year, and make her grandchildren – and, ultimately, great-grandchildren – feel unconditionally loved. Betty’s wishes for a private graveside ceremony at Little Sister Cemetery are being followed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Good Samaritan Scandia Village, Capital Fund, 10560 Applewood Road, Sister Bay, Wis., 54234.
