OBSESSIONS!

Trying to eat gluten free. As most of my friends know, it is an obsession – since I have to avoid it. My friends are sick of hearing about it, and it gets in the way of dinner plans often. But, if you are Celiac or sensitive to gluten as I am, it is a necessity. It will not kill me if I eat it like other allergies could do, but it sure makes life uncomfortable and could lead to other serious conditions, such as diabetes if gone unchecked for many, many years. I am always reading the backs of boxes and ingredient lists to see if items contain gluten. My Ipod Touch has a great app called “Is that Gluten Free” which helps a lot. To clarify what Gluten is: anything derived from wheat, rye, and barley, which includes most processed foods.

It’s a condition, but it has definitely been an obsession the last year. – Dan Eggert

I’m obsessed with the Dos Equis Guy – the most interesting man in the world. If you’ve got some time to spare, check out the slew of hilarious commercials at dosequis.com “Stay thirsty, my friends.” – Bonnie Spielman

Lately, I’ve been obsessed by “A Very Potter Musical,” the very nerdy Harry Potter themed musical (look it up on YouTube). Since then, new phrases have been creeping into my everyday vernacular, like “Moonshoes Potter” and “Supermegafoxyawesomehot.” – Nik Garvoille

I must begin to obsess about listening to my own advice. Recently, I gave helpful hints to others and neglected to heed my own advice. Shortly after, my lack of attention caused some very unnerving disturbances at my house. I now vow to hear myself, take given guidance, and apply it. – Angela Sherman

“Veggie Stix” from Main Street Market. Like a combination of a chip and a French fry, these relatively healthy, crunchy treats are perfect anytime snacks. They go for about $4 a bag, and contain all quality ingredients: whole potato flour, expeller pressed non-hydrogenated sunflower and/or canola oil, natural wheat starch, rice flour, tomato and spinach puree, salt. At only 140 calories per serving, these great tasting stix can easily become your obsession, too. – Brittany Jordt
