OBSESSIONS

Is there anything you can’t stop thinking about, listening to, watching, eating, drinking? From a wild enthusiasm for those Snickers Betty White commercials to a 15-year cheddar you can’t stop eating, or a song you’ve got on repeat, obsessions are meant to be your of-the-moment fixation.

“I’m obsessed with correcting the improper use of the words lay and lie. Way too many folks say, ‘Lay down.’ Lay is to place. Lie is to recline.” – Dave Schumann

“Coffee: piping hot every 30 minutes.” – Anonymous

“Is there anything better than a fire in the backyard on a crisp evening? Only if you built the fire pit with your husband and have a bunch of friends enjoying a fire with you! With all the fallen trees in our yard, a fire pit was inevitable. Now that summer is fading, we have used our pit more than ever. It is so relaxing to sit under the stars with the warm glow of the fire and music in the background. S’mores are an added tasty treat. Pile on the wood anytime.” -Angela Sherman

“‘Double Rainbow,’ the YouTube video.” –Anonymous

“You don’t have to love Fox’s hit series, Glee, to appreciate the opening skit for the 2010 Emmy Awards. Host and comic genius Jimmy Fallon does not disappoint, and the cast of Glee join him in performing ‘Born to Run,’ making their way through the back stage area, finally ending up on the main stage in full costumes. The skit mocks some of the obstacles the actors in the series find themselves in and includes a couple wonderful cameo moments, including one from the lovely Tina Fey and Betty White. YouTube it.” – Brittany Jordt
