Oceans of Possibilities All Summer Long

The Door County Library’s summer reading program is starting soon! Readers of all ages can earn free books and Destination Door County gift certificates June through August at all library branches.

To join the program, download the Beanstack app, search for Door County Library, and track your minutes and books. Or, if you prefer, visit one of the eight branches to pick up paper slips to return. Each week, names will be drawn from those entries, and winners will be contacted.

The summer season will also include many free activities for adults, children, tweens, teens and families as the libraries transition back to in-person programming with the theme of Oceans of Possibilities: The Inland Seas.

Craft bags with a water theme will be available for pickup each month, along with special crafts to do inside each library. June is all about fisheries, so it will include visiting with Department of Natural Resources personnel, making fish mosaics with artist Joseph Kaftan and listening to guest storytime readers. July will include touring the Coast Guard station and learning about water safety. And in August, the library will feature shipwrecks and presentations about diving.

Door County Library has branches in Baileys Harbor, Egg Harbor, Ephraim, Fish Creek, Forestville, Sister Bay/Liberty Grove, Sturgeon Bay and Washington Island. Library cards are free with a photo ID to all residents and visitors.

Registration for the summer reading program will begin June 1. Learn more about the Oceans of Possibilities at the library at DoorCountyLibrary.org/summer.
