A painting by Jan Comstock was accepted into the Oil Painters of America’s 2016 Juried Salon Exhibit. The exhibit is being held in Fort Wayne, Indiana at Castle Gallery of Fine Art. The exhibit opens Sept. 30 and will run through Oct. 29.
Oil Painters of America (OPA) is the first national organization to be established for the sole purpose of promoting traditional representational oil painters. OPA membership currently stands at 3,400 artists from the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Comstock’s piece titled “With A Flower in Her Hair” was one of 275 oil paintings selected. The focus of this exhibit was to select paintings that showed a high quality in craftsmanship, color and composition, as well as emphasizing diversity in representational style and subject matter.
