Old Crow, Mavis Staples Coming to DCA

Door Community Auditorium (DCA) has announced its 2021-22 30th anniversary Main Stage performance schedule, featuring a diverse array of performers that includes Mavis Staples, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Four Tops, The Wailers, Ballet Hispánico and more.

After a season that was scuttled by COVID-19, the DCA board and staff are eager to light the lights, host musicians as they return to the road and stage, and provide a space for performers and audiences to share the balm of the performing arts.

“We all need this,” said Cari Lewis, DCA’s executive director. “The industry, performers, presenters and our communities – we’re ready to gather and share, to listen and feel, to reflect and receive. We think it’s time, and we’ve put a great deal of preparation and care into doing it safely.”

DCA will kick off its 2021 season with a performance by Door County blues outfit Mighty Mouth on June 25, followed by Chicago-based bluegrass band The Special Consensus on July 2.

In response to COVID-19 concerns, DCA has upgraded its HVAC system. Masks will be required for all patrons until further notice, and DCA will begin the season by operating at 25% of capacity, with a plan to expand to 60% capacity starting Aug. 8. Full refunds will be offered to patrons who stay home because they do not feel well.

Special advance ticket sales for DCA VIPs will begin June 8; tickets will go on sale to the general public June 15. To see a full season lineup and purchase tickets, visit dcauditorium.org.
