Olde Ellison Bay Days

Another Door County festival will kick off the summer when the 42nd Olde Ellison Bay Days starts Friday, June 27, with the popular talent show and ice cream social at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church at 5 pm.

The Bittorf Brothers will entertain from 5 – 9 pm Friday at the Ellison Bay Beach Park. Refreshments will be available.

Parking on Saturday and Sunday will be availabe at the Ellison Bay/Gills Rock Historical Site on Highway 42, and the trolley will be providing transportation to the art fair and downtown.

On Saturday, parade lovers can participate in the parade and win a prize. Parade participants should meet at the Shepherd of the Bay parking lot by 10:30 am to join in the fun. The Door County Visitor Bureau will award a prize of $250 for the best business float, while the Ellison Bay Service Club will award $100 prizes for the most original, the best animal and the funniest floats. Winners will be announced at the Gazebo at noon on Saturday.

In addition to the parade, Olde Ellison Bay days will include a variety of family friendly activities. The Fine Craft and Art Show, from 10 am – 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday, will be held at the Ellison Bay Beach Park and will feature some of the finest artists and craftspeople from Wisconsin and beyond. Children’s games will begin at noon with an egg toss, buried treasure hunt and other games. Strawberry Shortcake will be served from noon – 4 pm Saturday and Sunday at the Women’s Clubhouse.

Live entertainment will also be part of the festivities. On Saturday from 11:30 am – 2:45 pm, Copperbox – a band familiar to many lovers of zydeco – will play, and on Sunday from 1 – 4 pm, Big Mouth will play. Both bands will be playing at the Gazebo and the Northern Door Service Clubs will be providing refreshments.
