Open Door Bird Sanctuary, 4114 Cty I in Jacksonport, is introducing Raptor Rambles: fun, family-friendly events during which participants can meet and learn about daytime birds of prey.
The first of two events, to be held June 3, will start with a pancake breakfast at 9 am in the picnic area. Then attendees will set out in small groups with a trail map on the trail system to discover falcons and hawks. The resident raptors will be with handlers who will share all the cool things about their bird. It’s a great way to discover – or further explore – the sanctuary. The other viewing areas will also be open during the event.
The cost is $30 for adults and $8 for children eight and younger. Payment must be made in advance; tickets are limited. To reserve a ticket, call Jillaine Burton at 414.897.6569. Visit opendoorbirdsanctuary.org to learn more about this program and the sanctuary.
