On March 11, PFLAG – the nation’s largest and oldest organization uniting families and allies with people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) – celebrated 45 years since its founding in New York City. PFLAG Sturgeon Bay/Door County has been an active chapter for 21 years this month. Since its founding, PFLAG has helped hundreds of thousands of families learn how to support their LGBTQ children and loved ones.
“PFLAG has had a revolutionary impact on parenting and family values and practices in the U.S. and around the globe,” said Jean Hodges, president of PFLAG National, the national organization that supports and resources the grassroots PFLAG chapter network.
This year’s Open Door Pride Festival is scheduled for June 23, 11am-5pm at Martin Park in Sturgeon Bay. For more information visit pflagdoorcounty.org.
