Open Door Theater Company presents Blue Material, an original play written by Andrew James, Aug. 24-26 at the Old Gibraltar Town Hall in Fish Creek.
The death of Vaudeville and the birth of Realism in America occurs at most peculiar time: the Great Depression. Richard Stone is one of Vaudeville’s last great headliners, but when he steps onto a new stage to perform one of Chekhov’s most tragic pieces, he struggles to understand why anyone would want to see such drama at a time when America was barely hanging on.
Join Open Door Theater Company for the world premiere performance of Blue Material. Performances begin at 7:30 pm Thursday through Saturday, with an additional 2 pm performance on Saturday.
The suggested donation for admissions is $20, but it’s “pay what you will” at the door. The Old Gibraltar Town Hall is located at 4176 Maple Street in Fish Creek.
