The Town of Liberty Grove has been exploring the interest and need for a culinary center and shared-use food processing kitchen. A recent survey was conducted to assess the interest and need of the citizens of northern Door County for such a facility. The results of this survey will be shared at an open house from 4:30 to 7 pm on Monday, Nov. 24, at the Liberty Grove Town Hall, 11161 Old Stage Road, Sister Bay.
Along with presenting information on the survey the Culinary Center Committee will showcase Door County products being processed by current and graduated food processor. Sampling of products will be available for those attending the Meet, Greet and Eat open house.
This project is being explored as a community-based economic development opportunity for new and existing northern Door businesses. It is currently in the research phase. The open house is an opportunity to find out more about the culinary center.
The Meet, Greet and Eat is open to anyone who would like to obtain more information, meet the northern Door Culinary Center Committee, talk to current processors and sample products being processed by Door County food entrepreneurs. It is an opportunity to learn more and ask questions about the proposed Culinary Center.
No formal presentations are being planned; there will be copies of the survey and videos of other Wisconsin shared-use facilities.
