Orchard Country Winery Releases Sixth Door County Lighthouse Wine Edition

Orchard Country Winery & Market will celebrate the sixth edition of its Door County Lighthouse wine series with local artist Bridget Austin on Sept. 7, 1 – 4 pm.

Austin will autograph the blue lighthouse-shaped bottle that features her rendition of Pilot Island Lighthouse. The limited edition wine is a semi-dry cherry Riesling and retails for $19.95.

The event will also include complimentary wine and farm market food tasting, free guided winery tours at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm, and a special prize drawing.

“It is quite a sight to see Pilot Island up close. Architecturally, it’s an interesting building with the two wings, and the rocky shoreline makes docking a challenge. It can look quite bleak on a foggy or stormy day, but the sparkling sunshine and cheerful colors are what I enjoyed seeing and painting,” said Austin.

Austin’s rendition of Sherwood Point Lighthouse was the third edition in the Door County Lighthouse wine series. Her original artwork and prints are available at Cottage Row Framing & Gallery, located onsite in Orchard Country’s big red barn.

“This project celebrates two of Door County’s popular cultures – art and maritime,” says Director of Marketing Carrie Lautenbach-Viste. “And it’s been a pleasure having such talented artists, share their lighthouse renderings with us for the past six years.”
