About Northern Door Communications

Northern Door Communications constructed the first commercial paging service in Northern Door County in 1985. Soon after, commercial mobile radiophone and dispatch radio was provided to local businesses and municipalities. The 180’ tower we erected on top of the Sister Bay bluff was sold to Cellcom at the end of the 1990’s.

In our early years, we installed 2-way radios and base stations for the Gibraltar, Sevastopol and Southern Door School buses. Later, we upgraded the Sturgeon Bay School bus radio system. Local businesses also purchased such systems for their service fleets, and resorts installed radio systems to stay in touch with employees.

We have become the primary provider of 2-way radios and pagers for all the FIRE & EMS departments north of Sturgeon Bay, and many municipalities, businesses, hotels, theaters and marinas in our community.

In 1990, owner Greg Diltz was approached by Cellcom, the first cellular carrier to launch in NE Wisconsin. They established the northernmost cellsite in Wisconsin (at the time) on our tower in Sister Bay and NDC became a Cellcom 5-Star Agent, one of the first cellular providers in Door County. Our “downtown” office/store was built in 1995. We remain there today; still the only cellular source in Northern Door County. Over the years, we have been awarded 14 “Agent-of- the-Year” awards, as well as many other citations for customer sales and service. Liz and Missy have become the local cellular experts, with over 20 years of combined cellular experience.

Today, NDC is the go-to source for name brand cellular phones and tablets, home phone replacement service, mobile broadband MIFIs, 4g/LTE fixed/mobile modems, wireless cameras and cellular accessories.
