Ostomy Associations Celebrate Ostomy Awareness Day on Oct. 6

The United Ostomy Association of America, Inc. joins together with Ostomy Associations across the world to celebrate World Ostomy Day and Ostomy Awareness Day on Oct. 6. On this day, individuals are commemorated who have had this life saving surgery, and recognize their families and caregivers. Medical conditions resulting in Ostomy surgery are Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Colon and Bladder Cancer.
