Join the nonpartisan Climate Change Coalition of Door County (climatechangedoorcounty.com) for an outdoor screening of the compelling documentary Blowout: Inside America’s Energy Gamble on Sept. 25, 7 pm, in the back parking lot of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1756 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay. The screening is free, but donations will be gratefully accepted to support the coalition’s work.
The U.S. is producing more fossil fuels than ever and is selling them to the rest of the world as climate change increasingly produces heat waves, wildfires, droughts and floods. Blowout investigates the climate, public-health, economic and social consequences of the U.S. fossil-fuel export boom. It’s a collaboration of the Center for Public Integrity, Texas Tribune, Associated Press and Newsy.
Attendees may listen through outdoor speakers or radios (portable radios eliminate the need to keep engines running), and they may take lawn chairs to sit outside or remain in their cars.
