    Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay will host various programs throughout March. March 17 at 1 pm Crossroads will host “Nature Hike: In Search of Green.

  • Pen Park Features Irish-themed Programs March 17

    Peninsula State Park will host various programs throughout St. Patrick’s Day on March 17. All programs are free and open to the public, but a state park vehicle sticker is required.

  • Ephraim Yacht Club Announces 2012 Sailing Lesson Program

    The Ephraim Yacht Club (EYC) has announced its junior group sailing lesson program for 2012. The EYC will offer lessons over a nine-week period beginning June 11, in a single, one-week session and four, two-week sessions.

    Join the Door County Master Gardeners Association at a free public program, “Garden Containers – Think Outside the Box!” on March 6 at 7 pm at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay.

  • Bluebird Nesting Box Workshop at The Ridges

    The public is welcome to learn about ways to help bluebirds returning in the spring by building a nesting box at The Ridges Sanctuary on March 10. “Building for Bluebirds” workshops will be held at 10 am and 2 pm at The Ridges’ Marshall Cabin, located at 8288 Highway Q in Baileys Harbor.

  • Check out the Night Sky at Crossroads Observatory

    The Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay will host a variety of programs throughout February. Feb.18 at 7 pm, “Night Sky Viewing at the Observatory” will be open to the pubic.

  • Winter Fest Draws A Crowd

    Unseasonably mild conditions lent a helping hand in a record turnout at the 25th annual Fish Creek Winter Festival, February 3 – 5. Volunteers from Door County non-profits were kept busy all day running food concessions and the traditional wacky games.

  • The Ridges Offers Herbicide Study Sessions

    The Ridges Sanctuary will host weekly study sessions to prepare participants for the certification test in aquatic herbicide application. The State of Wisconsin requires individuals applying pesticides in an aquatic area to be certified with an herbicide applicators permit.

    The Ridges Sanctuary’s Early Birders Club will tour the gallery of national award-winning taxidermist Mike Orthober on Feb. 11 at 10 am. Wildlife Wizardry Studio is located at 6453 Oak Road, just off Bay Shore Drive in Egg Harbor.

  • Newport State Park Hosts Annual Candlelight Trail Event

    Newport State Park will hold their 21st Annual Candlelight Ski/Hike/Snowshoe event on Feb. 11 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Park staff and volunteers will place over 300 homemade candles guiding participants down a one-mile wooded trail section.

  • Sturgeon Bay Hosts Annual “Fire & Ice” Weekend

    Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center will host the annual “Fire & Ice” weekend Feb. 17 – 19. Saturday will be filled with cool activities including a citywide ice carving competition by local ice artists and professional carvers.
